AM I NOT A HUMAN?

Covered with black dust
My hands are burnt
My feet are bleeding for I walk on the road without shoes
I see other children walking to school with books in their hands
And I want to be there with them
Am I not a human?
Do I not exist?
Give me education
I am the future of this nation!

During summers, I burn
During winters, I shiver to death
During rain, I am soaking wet
I want some clothes to wear
I want to be like those who can AFFORD such needs
Am I not a human?
Do I not exist?
Out of all your jackets and raincoats
Can you not give me one?

Many children like me
Die every week
Because we have empty stomachs
I see other children with
Burgers and pizzas in their hands
I don't want such items
All I want is fresh bread; roti and fresh sabji
Am I not a human?
Do I not exist?
Amongst your tasty meals,
A bite won't spoil anything.

Sitting alone in corners
I watch other children
Walking hand in hand
I also want a brother or sister
I also want a home and parents
Or maybe just a friend.
Am I not a human?
Do I not exist?

I am not asking for much
It may seem alot to you,
But,
You have it all.

Think about me,
I DON'T...
